Ghost Adventures Live - Are You Watching?

470_803104.jpg

I’ve always been a big fan of the paranormal. Ghost Hunters is one of my favorite television shows, and over the last few years they have had a big all night Halloween mission. I would tune in and watch until I passed out.

Here it is just after midnight on Halloween day, and there is another series doing something similar. Starting around 5pm Pacific, Ghost Adventures started a trek through the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, West Virginia. There have been numerous reported sightings at the location, and many ghost hunters have been there before.

When I tuned in tonight, the excitement was over a scream that was heard by those investigating. I didn’t hear it myself, but they sure seemed excited about it!

What do you think of these types of shows? As a believer in ghosts, I enjoy them, but you have to wonder how real these shows are. They are a perfect fun time for Halloween though!

The Vampire Diaries Heats Up CW

Published by Regina Avalos under Television Edit This

the-vampire-diaries-cast-picture.jpg

Yes, another vampire series, but this one looks to be taking off. The series seems to have managed to pick up the highest ratings for a premiere ever on the CW, which is probably not saying much. The series stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley as two vampire brothers causing havoc in a small town. Well, one of them is causing havoc. The other is stuck on the reincarnation of his former love. What do you think of this one? Are you watching?

Paris To Hit Supernatural

spn-s6.jpg

News started buzzing a few days about a new guest start for the series. Paris Hilton is said to be joining the series for its fifth episode this season. There was no word what her role might be, now we know a demon will possess Paris Hilton’s body. I almost wish I was joking, but that is what it looks like now. Kripke, the show’s creator has come out with the information himself. Supernatural returns for its fall season on September 10th, and Paris will appear on the episode set for October 8th.

It’ll be a fun, irreverent episode and we here at Supernatural are thrilled that Paris agreed to do it.

Ghost Whisperer - Life On The Line

Melinda Gordon tries to help her friend Delia sell a house in this week’s episode of Ghost Whisperer. What no one knows is that the house is haunted by the spirit of a young boy that died two years ago when he was run over accidently by someone running the family’s lawn mower. There is a secret in this one that tears the family apart.

The father has taken the blame for this tragic event to prevent his wife from dealing with the pain of knowing her oldest son did it. It was an accident that breaks this family apart, and the spirit wants them to come clean and allow wounds to heal. The oldest son takes things the hardest of them all as he almost takes his own life over the guilt he feels for causing the death of his brother.

Once the secret is out, the spirit of the younger boy can move on, and the family can begin to heal itself. Melinda helps yet another family find peace while trying to deal with her own life. Jim is still in the body of Sam, but Sam is trying to figure out who he was about to propose to.

With Ned’s help, he finds an email he sent to someone named Nicole. He asks her to marry him via this one email, but as far as he can tell he never heard back. He wants to settle this and this means leaving Grandview. This is something that worries Melinda. Will she lose Jim all over again? We’ll have to wait until next week.

Ghost Whisperer - ‘Ball & Chain’

260414.jpg

In this week’s episode called Ball & Chain, Melinda is dealing with the ghost of a woman she comes upon at the farmer’s market when she visits it with Delia. The woman seems to be quite confused each and every time Melinda ends up encountering her. She is always fearful of being late. Melinda as always goes on to find out more about the woman, taking her home and meeting the woman’s husband.

As it turns out, Tami has been missing for two years. In that time, her husband has already apparently remarried, and Tami seems to be confused by this. Melinda keeps digging on, and the other thing that stands out to her is the fact that Tami keeps mentioning a family. In the neighborhood, no one seems to remember their being any children. This makes things just more confusing for Melinda, and she has Eli help her find out what happened after Tami describes things for her.

Eli happens to find Tami’s body. It looks like a suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. Melinda keeps digging though, and Eli finds out more information. Tami had another identity. Six years before that moment, she was also known by the name of Sara. Melinda goes to see Sara’s husband to find out Sara disappeared six years. This is similar to what Roger told Melinda had happened. He tried to tell Melinda Tami had been mentally ill, but as Tami hears more, she remembers.

Roger apparently worked in her home, and he kidnapped her. He held her captive, and then he slowly made her trust him in a case of stockholm syndrome. Melinda thinks he might be doing the same to his new wife Elizabeth. She tries to talk to her, but she is obviously scared. Tami tells her all that happened, and Melinda goes to the house where she finds Elizabeth in the floor of the house tied up. She frees her, but Roger arrives. He comes after Melinda, but Elizabeth is able to help and all ends well. She is returned to her family, and Tami is able to make peace with hers before crossing over.

Melinda had other issues to deal with this episode as well. Issues in the forum of Jim still in Sam’s body while he tries to remember who he planned to propose too. He doesn’t feel comfortable talking to Melinda about it, and he tells Delia that. Melinda has no idea what he will do, and she wants to know. She doesn’t want to lose Jim again. However, there is a chance she might. Sam wants to find this woman.

A good episode, but no holiday feel to it with Christmas only a few days away. With the previews, I expected more of Sam dealing with his problems, but it was a quiet episode. What did you think of this week’s episode of Ghost Whisperer?

More Ghost Hunting Planned

ghosthunters-1.jpg

If you are a fan of Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, there is some good news for you. Sci-Fi Channel is planning to bring you more of both in the year ahead. New episodes of Ghost Hunters International will start airing on January 7th, and the fifth season of Ghost Hunters will premiere some time in March.

The network is also premiering a new series called Ghost Hunters: New Generation. This six episode series will show college aged ghost hunters learning the ropes as they investigate haunted locations with more experienced investigators at their side. By 2010, we might even have more ghost hunting on the network with the people behind these programs striking a deal with the network for one more new series.

I am a fan of both Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, so I’m glad to hear they are keeping both series around. The New Generation also sounds interesting. Who will we see take this series on? Will Jay and Grant be at the helm? We’ll have to wait and see once the series premieres!

Most Haunted USA: The Stanley Hotel

6d80fee9-bc77-495d-ae94-96841fe75693.jpg

Another well known haunted location is The Stanley Hotel. This hotel rests high in the mountains outside of Denver, and it is said to be the inspiration for Stephen King’s The Shining. This novel has been made into two movies. The first of which starred Jack Nicholson, and it is one of his best performances.

King received the inspiration for his book after spending just one night in Room 217, one of the more haunted rooms of the hotel. It was once the location of an explosion back in the 1920’s where a maid almost lost her life. She was spared by the collapse of the floor which sent her down to the floor below. It is said that she still haunts the room, and she will do her regular maid duties when the room’s guests are out.

Another haunted room is 401. There is a spirit of a man that didn’t seem too fond of having people in his room when the investigators did their walk through. The team from Most Haunted spent the night at the hotel, and they had a number of experiences. One man had an experience in room 217 while he was doing psychic sketching. The door next to his chair opened ride. This one hotel has always fascinated me.

Ghost Hunters has been there more once, and it was interesting to see Most Haunted visit the location. I’m not the biggest fan of this series. It is a bit more on the campy said than Ghost Hunters in, but they did work well on the site, and they did so with guests staying in the hotel. I’m sure this won’t be the last time I talk about this haunted location.

Ghost Hunters - Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse

berekeley-on-the-bay-april-03wbszd.jpg

The Wednesday night episode put an end to this season of Ghost Hunters. With all their season ending episodes, they try to end things with some kind of big band, and this time was no exception to that. This investigation took them to New Hampshire to visit the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. This location had three sites of interest that all had paranormal happenings - the light house, the fort and the keeper’s quarters. All three locations were in close enough proximity to each other, so this made it quite easy to investigate all three locations in one night.

The investigate itself seemed to bring a lot of personal experiences out. This place definitely has something going on. The team was trying to make contact with a deceased worker from the lighthouse - Joshua Carr. Most of the experiences seemed to happen in the lighthouse. Two of the three teams heard strange noises in the lighthouse. They were even able to communicate with whatever entity was making the noises by using knocks. The entity responded back with both teams, and there was evidence of this caught on video.

In other areas, the team heard voices and experienced a slamming door. These were also heard on tape, but the best evidence from the investigation was in the lighthouse. This historical landmark goes back to before the Revolutionary War. Before that time, it was known as Fort William & Mary, but after the war - the fort was renamed Fort Constitution. While not many died tragically on the property itself, the river surrounding the fort and lighthouse was known to have several shipwrecks. The victims of these shipwrecks were brought to the fort where they were treated, and some also died. The lighthouse dates back to the 1770’s, and it is still used as a station for Coast Guard today.

This ends the season of Ghost Hunters, but Ghost Hunters International will premiere its new season on January 7th. I will cover those episodes here when the season begins. Over at Clique Clack TV , there is also some talk about this episode. A more behind the scenes look. Apparently, the episode and investigation took place over two nights, and not just the one that is mentioned in the episode. The episode was shot back in October, but only aired this week. What did you think of this episode of Ghost Hunters?

Ghost Whisperer Episode 4-9

whisperer4-9.jpg

TV.com: Pieces of You: Melinda discovers the secret behind a girl who has been missing for 12 years.

-

Recap & Review: Ghost Whisperer has taken an interesting turn in the last few weeks. Jim died and left Melinda. However, he coould never really leave her. His love for her went beyond death, and she was miserable without him. His death did shock a lot of viewers, including me. However, we saw the writers of the series had a different plan in mind. They brought Jim back when he jumped into another man’s body - a man that had just died. When he did this, he lost all memories of his life as Melinda’s husband and all memories of his life as Sam. At first no one believed that Jim had jumped into another man’s body, but with a little time and patience they all saw what Melinda did..

Now we are moving forward. Sam is living in Melinda’s garage while she tries to cope with the loss of her husband, even if he is right there. He doesn’t remember their lives together. He makes her nervous every time he comes near her, and he seems to have similar feelings, even if he can’t really explain them. While working on her garage, he has also taken on a job at a house that is being demolished. He takes Melinda there, and she sees the spirit of a young girl in the well outside the home. The little girl thinks the well really makes wishes come true. The girl somehow attaches herself to Sam after he makes a wish at the well, and this worries Melinda. At first, she thinks that the spirit is somehow attached to Sam, but that doesn’t happen to be the case.

The spirit is of a little girl that once lived in the home. She went missing twelve years before, and she blames her older brother for her death. He is still alive, and he lives in town. Melinda thinks it is possible that the boy killed his sister, but it turns out to be a case of two siblings that never seem to get along. They fight more than anything, and after the boy cuts the little girl’s dolls apart, she wishes the same happens to him. He decides to play a trick on her, and when she thinks her brother has lost an arm, she goes to the well to take her wish back. However, she ends up falling into the well and dies. Melinda helps the little girl make amends with her brother, and before she goes into the light the little girl also helps Sam.

We see Sam and Melinda share little moments together as they get closer. Melinda knows the spirit of her dead husband is in his body, but Sam has no idea. He doesn’t even know when he starts doing things like Jim did. Melinda picks up on the little things though, and it makes her miss Jim even more than she already does. There is a problem though because the little girlĀ  directs Sam to a safe deposit box with an engagement ring inside. The only thing he doesn’t remember who he planned to ask to to marry him. This episode continued the slow development between Melinda and this new Jim. I like how they connect him in some what to what is going on with the ghost Melinda is helping. We’ll have to see how long they keep this slow development continuing. For now, I am curious to see where this series is headed.
