The Ghost At Big Moose Lake

Published by Regina Avalos at 6:37 pm under Ghosts, Haunted Places Edit This

From time to time, I like to bring haunted places around the United States and the world. Big Moose Lake in the Adirondack Mountains is the site of a July 1906 murder where one man, Chester Gillette, killed his pregnant lover, Grace Brown. This one event has become the subject of books and movies since including the book and film by the same name, An American Tragedy.

The spirit of Grace is said to haunt a cabin on the lake, and some have even reported seeing a woman drown in the lake. This sighting is said to be the spirit of Grace Brown living out her death in constant repeat. This phenomenon is called a residual haunting.

My friends and I are really into ghost-hunting and we think it would nice to know if it was possible to investiage this area and see if the sightings are legitimate but we want to know if its a good idea. Truthfully I think that it would be very cool and spooky to see this woman repeating such a tragic death over and over again.
