Haunted Places: The Queen Mary

Around the country and around the world, there are many locations that are said to be haunted by spirits. Some are seen. Some are heard. Some are only felt. The sighting of spirits, and the need to find out more about these strange phenonmenon has only grown, especially in the last ten years or so. I will look at some of those places on this blog, and there are many.
One of the most haunted places in the US has to be The Queen Mary. The ship is currently docked in Long Beach, and there have been a number of sightings on board the ship. Between 1936 to 1967, the ship was used both as a cruise ship and as battle ship during World War II. During wartime, it was known as The Grey Ghost.
The sightings on the ship include a man that died in the lower bowels of the ship in Shaft Alley, children splashing and playing around the pool with the appearance of wet footsteps around the now dry pool, and a ghost reported in Room 340 that has forced the staff on board to close down the room to visitors and residents.
The area around the front desk in what is now the hotel part of the ship also has reported sightings. One of a woman in white, and another of a couple walking through the hallway. The ship now sits in Long Beach as a hotel with visitors constantly. Many come to just to catch a glimpse of the spirits on board. There are a number of videos on Youtube of people searching for ghosts. This is one below. If you can’t see it below, go here .

I always love reading about older ghost stories. This is definitely one place I would love to visit.
Scary!
I *love* haunted places and ghosts! I’ve seen, heard, and felt many. You might want to check out DePauw University - there are many hauntings there (and the surrounding area) and I can tell you about some of them if you like.
